This is to be renewed every 3 years. The HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation component needs to be renewed every 12 months to remain current.
Participants in this course will learn the skills and knowledge required to support and protect children and young people who are at risk of harm. It focuses not only on identifying the signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect but also supports child-focused practices to uphold the rights of the child, disclosure, reporting and confidentiality in accordance with state legislative responsibilities and the service policies and procedures. Participants will also learn how to apply ethical and nurturing practices and observe professional boundaries when working with children and young people.
Participants will be required to demonstrate their skills in a real workplace (post-course) and submit a third-party observation report.
The skills in this course are applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.

This course may be booked and completed as a separate course or as an add-on to any First Aid training course, typically added to HLTAID009 or HLTAID011 training courses. Face to face duration is 30 minutes.
